Established in 2013, Le Antonio’s Foundation is a registered non-profit organization located in the inner-cities of Montego Bay. Founder and President of the Le Antonio’s Foundation, Montego Bay businessman and owner of Mckoy’s News, Antonio McKoy recognized the need for an organization that helps struggling families in the poverty stricken area of Barnett Lane, Railway Lane and environs. He established the Foundation with funding from his then roofing and construction company. Today, the foundation seeks funding from corporations, friends of the Foundation, businesses and other non-profits.
Le Antonio’s Foundation values and Mission begins with empowering the lives of families within the inner-city communities we serve. We are first-hand witnesses to the effects that poverty has these communities. Poverty reduces education, nutrition, leadership, fair opportunities and wellbeing. Our Foundation is developed as a bridge that helps children, young adults, and their families create and meet attainable goals for their future.
Under the Le Antonio’s Foundation operation, is Jamaica’s first Anti-Bullying Resource Center, which provides support against bullying through our End Bullying Globally Programme. The Resource Centre also hosts a Homework and Art Programme, a Leadership Programme which prepares youths for employment or college, as well as, helps the poor and elderly. The Centre also has a Mentorship Programme which pairs the inner-city youths with mentors, and expanded opportunities. We are currently Montego Bay’s only free afterschool daily feeding programme. The Le Antonio’s Foundation Anti-Bullying Resource Center Feeding Programme supplies nutritious, cooked meals to the youths attending the Homework Programme, some of whom, our meal may be their only meal for the day.
Le Antonio’s Foundation operates a full anti-bullying resource programme while providing mentorship to students in the inner-cities and rural areas of Montego Bay. Our Centre serves as a homework hub for the students who live in the vicinity of the Centre. We also cultivate a full art programme, showcase their art, as well as, host art events to encourage the young artists. The End Bullying Globally Resource Centre’s feeding programme caters to all students enrolled in the homework programme.
